I have a deep desire to make our riding a healthy place, and I want to help residents benefit from my experience. This is why I’m excited to step up to earn the nomination as the Vernon-Lumby candidate for BC United.

Dauna
Dauna Kennedy is a proven changemaker who is passionate about the issues that matter most to our community.
Through her work as executive director of the Vernon Public Art Gallery and as the Past President and member of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce board of directors, Dauna understands how to realize creative solutions and how to support both our economy as well as our most vulnerable.
Today, in the North Okanagan, our pressing issues are complex and interwoven: health care and mental health supports, housing and public safety. While we’re starting to make progress, Dauna imagines a near future where we can act on realistic solutions, root problem change, that will start to make a difference now.
What’s at risk if we don’t act effectively and quickly? What kind of community do we want for our older selves and our children?
As a young widow and single parent who raised two great boys while helping her family overcome tragedy, Dauna understands the challenges today’s families face in raising healthy, thriving children.
When we uplift our families, our family-owned businesses, the vulnerable among us, and the systems that are broken—we see the interconnectedness of our greatest challenges and opportunities, and the ripples of positive change to come.
